Perhaps unfairly, 2021 has been dubbed a "quiet year" in the world of video games. Those of you who enjoyed Deathloop, It Takes Two, Super Mario 3D World, and Guardians of the Galaxy may be wondering where that belief came from. It could have been said first by those listing all of the major games set to arrive in 2022.
Because February is jam-packed with potentially huge games, this year will get off to a much faster start than 2021. Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, and Elden Ring will all be released during the year's shortest month. Not to mention Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which came out a few days ago. While Arceus does not appear on PlayStation's list of the most anticipated games of 2022, the other three do.

They are not the only ones. PlayStation has compiled a list of 22 games that will be released this year on the PS4 and PS5. A quick scroll from top to bottom will show you why many people expect the next 11 and a half months to be extremely busy for games. The aforementioned Forbidden West is at the top of the list, though it doesn't appear to be in order of most-anticipated or release date.
